Day 27: Ike ate under the tarp
To further desensitize Ike to hung tarp, I put part of their breakfast beneath the tarp as it blew in the wind. We did everything without any restraints today. Obviously, I can't ask for as much as I can when I have him in a halter bc he can walk off at any given time. One really cool thing I learned though is if you set a horse free and you're around him enough for him to understand your part of his world, he'll make the choice by himself to come back to you. I think that's the most amazing thing. In the past when a horse walked away, I would have him move more so that he'd want to be with me, because sharing my space meant less work and more comfort. Now though, I can let him walk off and even laugh at it, because sure enough, he turns around on his terms and its his decision that I'm where he wants to be. I love that.
